Color Match
Does the word mean the colour you see? Answer before the bar runs out.
About Color Match
A fast Stroop-effect brain game. In Meaning vs Ink, decide whether the colour word on the left means the ink colour on the right. In Colour Tap, tap the circle whose colour is named, while the labels try to trick you. The timer shrinks with every answer, combos multiply your points, and three mistakes end the run.
How to play Color Match
- Meaning vs Ink: read the left word's meaning, look at the right word's ink colour.
- Answer Yes if they match, No if they don't, using the arrow keys or the on-screen zones.
- Colour Tap: tap the circle filled with the named colour. Ignore the words written on the circles.
- Every fifth correct answer in a row raises your multiplier. Three mistakes and the game ends.
Tips and strategy
- Look at the ink before you read the word.
- Blur your eyes slightly on the right card: you'll see colour, not letters.
- Speed bonuses are small; streaks are where the points are.
Color Match FAQ
What is the Stroop effect?
Reading is so automatic that a colour word printed in a different ink slows you down. This game trains you to override that habit.
Is it good for brain training?
It's a fun way to practise focus and inhibition. Treat it as a game rather than a medical test.
Is Color Match free to play?
Yes. Color Match is free in your browser on OFF PLAY, with nothing to download or install.
