About Rhythm Tap
A three-lane rhythm game with music generated in your browser. Notes fall towards the line in time with a drum-and-bass groove; tap each lane as its note crosses. Perfect, Great and Good timing scores differently, long combos multiply your points and every hit plays the next note of the melody. Choose Easy, Normal or Hard and aim for an S grade.
How to play Rhythm Tap
- Turn your sound on and press Play. Two bars count you in.
- Press A, S or D (or tap the lane) when a note reaches the line.
- Perfect is within 45 ms, Great 90 ms, Good 140 ms.
- Your grade depends on accuracy: S needs 95% with no misses.
Tips and strategy
- Listen to the snare: notes often land on it.
- Keep your fingers resting on the keys.
- If you're late on Bluetooth headphones, try the device speaker.

Where does the music come from?
It's synthesised live with the Web Audio API: drums, bass, chords, and a melody note for every note you hit. Nothing is downloaded.
Which difficulty counts for the leaderboard?
Normal. Easy and Hard keep a personal best on your device.
