About Top-Down Racer

A free top-down car racing game you can play in your browser. Pick a circuit (Sunset Circuit, Harbour Hairpins or the crossing Figure Eight) and race three computer drivers over three laps, or switch to time trial and chase a ghost of your fastest lap. Brake into the bends, drift through hairpins, stay off the grass and keep an eye on the minimap to see who is closing in.

How to play Top-Down Racer

  1. Choose Race (three laps against three CPU drivers) or Time trial (unlimited laps against your best-lap ghost).
  2. Pick a track and wait for the 3-2-1 countdown.
  3. Accelerate, brake before corners and steer through the kerbs. The grass slows you down a lot.
  4. In time trial, every lap faster than your record becomes the new ghost to chase.

Tips and strategy

  • Brake in a straight line before the corner, then turn in. Braking mid-corner spins you wide.
  • Tap Drift through hairpins to swing the back end round.
  • On the Figure Eight, watch the crossing: CPU cars don't wait for you.

Your fastest lap on Sunset Circuit, from either a race or a time-trial session. The other tracks keep a personal best on your device.

Where is my ghost saved?

In your browser, per track. Clearing site data removes it.
