About Colour Mixer

A paint-mixing puzzle. You get five target colours and five paints: red, yellow, blue, white and black. Add drops to your bowl and watch the colour change. Paint mixes the way real pigment does, so blue and yellow make green and a single drop of black goes a long way. Check your mix to see how close you got as a percentage, and the recipe that makes the target. Play today's palette (the same for everyone) and share your result, or practise as long as you like.

How to play Colour Mixer

1. Look at the target colour on the left.
2. Tap a paint to add a drop to your mix. Use undo to take the last drop back.
3. When you think it matches, press Check match to see your percentage.
4. Five colours make a round. Your total is out of 500.
5. Play today's palette once a day and share your coloured squares.

Tips and strategy

• Get the hue right first, then adjust lightness with white.
• Black is strong: add it last and one drop at a time.
• Proportions matter, not totals: 2 red + 2 yellow is the same colour as 1 + 1.
