About Water Jug Puzzle
The classic water-pouring puzzle in 13 levels, from the famous 3- and 5-litre challenge to tricky three-jug splits with no tap. Fill jugs, empty them, or pour one into another until it's empty or the other is full. Get the target amount into any jug. Every level shows the shortest possible solution length, worked out by a solver, and a hint reveals the next best move.
How to play Water Jug Puzzle
- Read the target amount for the level.
- Use Fill and Empty under a jug (on levels with a tap).
- Tap a jug to pick it up, then tap another to pour into it.
- Get exactly the target amount into any jug.
Tips and strategy
- Pouring always stops when the source is empty or the target is full. That's how you measure.
- Differences between jug sizes are the amounts you can make.
- On no-tap levels, the total water never changes.
