Who Is Lying?
Truth-tellers never lie, liars never tell the truth. Work out who's who.
About Who Is Lying?
Classic truth-teller and liar logic puzzles, generated fresh every time. Two to five people each make a statement about themselves or the others. Truth-tellers only say true things and liars only say false things. Mark everyone as a truth-teller or a liar; exactly one answer fits all the statements. Easy puzzles use simple claims, while hard ones add counting and either-or statements. After you solve one, the reasoning is laid out statement by statement.
How to play Who Is Lying?
- Read what each person says.
- Truth-tellers' statements are always true. Liars' statements are always false.
- Mark each person as a truth-teller or a liar.
- Press Check. If your marks contradict a statement, you'll be told whose words don't fit.
Tips and strategy
- “X and I are the same kind” always means X is a truth-teller, whoever says it. Work out why.
- Try assuming one person is a truth-teller and follow the consequences. A contradiction means they're a liar.
- “Either I am a liar or…” can never be said by a liar.
